Rehearsals

Regular Alexandria Harmonizers rehearsals and chapter meetings are open to any and all guests who want to rehearse, perform, or just watch.  We rehearse at 7:00 PM every Tuesday night at the Oswald Durant center in Old Town Alexandria.  You are welcome anytime during regular rehearsals!

If you are interested in singing with the Alexandria Harmonizers, we welcome you to join us on the risers.  We will provide you with a guest music book and place you next to a strong singer of your same voice part to make your visit more enjoyable.

Membership

Membership in the Alexandria Harmonizers is open to all men who like to sing.  The applicant process includes a voice placement with one of our Assistant Directors and a formal audition with the Section Leaders.  You are welcome to attend regular meetings and rehearsals as a guest or an applicant until you feel you are ready to audition.  During the applicant process, you will be provided with a copy of the audition song (currently Blue Skies) and opportunities to practice with various quartets.  For more information on becoming an Alexandria Harmonizer, contact Mr. Phil Ashford.

The Director

Our director, Mr. Joseph Cerutti, is one of the top choral directors in the world and he does provide voice lessons at a discount, if you request.  Otherwise, you can learn a great deal from him and his music team during rehearsals and through vocal craft sessions that are conducted a couple times each month.  However, the best way to build and further develop those skills is through performing with us.  :)

Rehearsal Schedule

We rehearse at 7:00 PM every Tuesday evening at Durant Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 (just two blocks East of the King Street Metro station).  Occasionally we rehearse at an alternate location, or are away for a performance or recording session, so be sure to check our Calendar or contact us before finalizing your plans.
