How do I subscribe to a calendar using Mac iCal?
-FAQ updated on 4JAN12 with new URL following change of web site address.
The calendar built on the Groupanizer platform is a little different than the Google calendars. The most obvious difference is there is only one! Google calendars do not permit setting event types such as "rehearsal," "performance," "meeting," etc. As a result, we had to create different calendars for each event type.
With the implementation of the calendars on Groupanizer, we can now integrate the calendars and designate different types of events within the same calendar. How does this relate to subscribing to calendars using Mac iCal? You now only need to subscribe to ONE calendar to see all Alexandria Harmonizer events!
The steps to subscribe to a published calendar differs depending on what operating system you are using (OS X vs. IOS.) If you are mobile device user, you most likely already know how to add a calendar subscription to your device. Most versions of OS X can follow the next steps to subscribe to the new Harmo-Calendar and ensure your personal calendar is always up to date.
- Open iCal on your desktop or laptop
- Click on the Calendar menu
- Select Subscribe...
- Copy and past the following into the Calendar URL box
- Click on the Subscribe button
A window will appear allowing you to change the properties of the subscribed calendar. Here you can rename the calendar (to appear differently in your iCal), change the color of the events to distinguish them from your personal calendar events, and change the auto-refresh schedule.

- When your individual preferences for the new calendar subscription are updated, click the OK button.
Your calendar will begin to download all events from the Groupanizer Calendar and will automatically refresh based on the refresh schedule you selected.
